We can't give away all the details, but Roc does make his prime-time dramatic debut Thursday night in the "Long Ball" episode on "CSI: Las Vegas DVD." The plot centers on the death of a golf legend on a golf course and, well, Rocco happens to find the body. And steals the opening scene.
"It was," he chuckled, "an absolute blast."
And, yes, he was a pro. A couple of different takes, a couple of different angles, a few word retakes and it was a wrap.
"They did it right," Rocco said. "They wanted it to look real. I told them a few things I would do with my caddie and movements. There were a few things I'd never say; things that I would say. If I'm playing myself, I have to play myself."
So, he'd offer suggestions to the directors and they'd say, "OK, try that."
Rocco shares the screen with series regular Marg Helgenberger -- CSI Catherine Willows in the show --- and has a couple of lines with her. He said she was "an absolute sweetheart" and the scene? "Dang, it was hilarious."
Natalie Gulbis, Duffy Waldorf, Kevin Na and CBS funnyman-announcers David Feherty and Gary McCord are also in the show, but it's Rocco who has generated all the buzz.

The most eye-catching part of his scene might be his girth. They shot the episode the Monday after Thanksgiving when Rocco was 35 pounds heavier. No one had to remind him. He knew it.

He's convinced the 20-10 Rocco can do it again. He had just one top-10 last season (a tie for ninth at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open), but he'll play three of his favorite courses in the next few weeks -- Torrey Pines, Riviera (Northern Trust Open) and TPC Scottsdale (Waste Management Phoenix Open). And if he can find some magic on the greens after some spiff-up time with Team Stockton, he believes he'll make his way into the World Golf Championship-Accenture Match Play Championship field.
"I might be ranked a millionth in the world right now --- I don't know -- but in a month, I could be 70th," he said. "That's the beauty of my job. I love my job."
For the record, Roc's 201st. He was 200, but Michael Jonzon jumped four spots over the weekend to push him back a spot. No big deal.
He's a bit surprised he's gotten so many exemptions, but, at the same time, he's flattered. To him, it means he's done his job right -- for the last 25 years. He plays pro-ams, does clinics and attends parties because he loves people and, well, when he was coming up, it was the right thing to do.
"I enjoy it," he said. "It's not a burden to me. Play, have a few drinks with the boys and have a blast. That's what it's all about. It's not about sports psychology, gyms and going to sleep at 9 o'clock. It's old school. There's still some old school golf out there."
Make no mistake. Rocco's thankful for another chance. His back has been acting up on-and-off since 1994 and he's happy if he has just a couple of bad-back weeks a year. He thinks, too, he's got four or five more years left on TOUR, which means he could follow Jay Haas and Fred Funk and postpone his Champions Tour career just a bit.
Crazy for a guy who hasn't won in years? No, just Rocco, who can't wait to jump headlong into the season.
As for acting?
He probably won't watch Thursday night. Said he'll likely catch his "CSI" moments on DVR in a few weeks. But you can be sure he'll be quick with quip --- self-deprecating or not --- when the locker room reviews start rolling in Friday morning.
So, does he have a future as an actor?
"I wouldn't call what I did acting," he laughed. "I was just being myself. I think acting would be much more difficult."
But we know Rocco and ... well, he'll be ready to accept that Emmy nomination -- or the Emmy if they add that new golfer-who-can't-act category.

Gaga gig comes up Trumps for Donald the apprentice
US business magnate Donald Trump was spotted enjoying himself at a recent Lady Gaga concert, according to reports.
The 63-year-old seemed to be having a whale of a time at the gig, held in New York's famous Radio City venue.
Trump, his wife Melania, 39, Barbara Walters and Gayle King later headed backstage to meet the Poker Face singer.
Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, signed a picture of them all with Trump’s Apprentice catchphrase, 'You're fired!'
The multi-millionaire is reportedly a huge fan of the 23-year-old pop star.
A spokesperson for Trump said: 'He thinks she is amazing, and it was one of the best concerts he has seen.'

Questions for Gary McCord CSI
The shoot took place at the TPC at Valencia in the Santa Clarita Valley. I had gotten to know the producers and the actors William Petersen and George Eads when they filmed the show at a studio near Valencia Country Club during the AT&T Pebble Beach. I had always wanted to play a dead guy on CSI, but it takes four days to be a dead guy on the show and I never had that much time.
For the shoot I had to sit in a trailer with Feherty for two days. So I'm emotionally scarred from that. I had about two graphs that I had to learn and read through. I had a wager with Rocco and Feherty that I would get my lines perfect the first time. I ended up doing two takes. But I had a lot of fun.
When is Tiger coming back?
I have had my tongue surgically removed from any questions about Tiger. So I can't answer that.
How will the 2010 golf season unfold?
I see the same thing happening where all the talent pool is concentrated in a couple of guys. I hope that after this thing is done with Tiger that some young players have established themselves so that we aren't all focused on one player who doesn't play that much to begin with. In any strong business you have to be diversified, and we're not real diversified on the Tour. We need some new stories.
Rules changes made grooves softer on wedges and irons in 2010. How will this impact play on the Tour?
This whole groove thing is a bunch of nothing. The Tour players have already worked around the rule by using new spinning balls or some other groove configuration from their equipment manufacturers. A 20 percent reduction in spin rate around the greens from the old groove to the new ones is not going to hurt these guys. They will just hit it higher and softer.
You've had some success on the Champions Tour with two wins, but by your own account you had an abysmal PGA Tour career: no wins, 24 Top 10s and 242 cuts in 378 events in 20-plus years. What was the key to your failure as a Tour player?
I made too many bogeys. I based my career on Bob Uecker's. I told Uecker the other day he had a .200 career batting average but only played six years in the big leagues, while I had long and embarrassing sequence of failure for over 20 years — in front of a lot of people.
You play out of Whisper Rock Golf Club in Scottsdale, which 40 PGA Tour players call home. Does this make your job as an analyst tougher when you have to see these guys in the grillroom?
I have never been that critical because, again, I took my career like Uecker and always said how bad my career was, taking a self-deprecating approach. But I do have a tendency to be harder on my friends that I play with at home.
Do the players trust you?
No. Even my best friends don't trust me because they know I have a big mouth. If they want to tell me something they will say, "This is off the record."
Aren't you responsible for the Top 125 all-exempt PGA Tour?
Yes. In 1982, when I came up with the idea, two-thirds of the players were Monday qualifiers. We were like a Bedouin society going around from palm tree to palm tree with no money. The Top 125 changed the whole administration of pro golf from a player's standpoint, giving security to more than just a handful of stars. I probably should have gotten a patent for it because every Tour in the world plays by it now. I'm an idiot for not doing that.
Feherty joined the CBS golf team in 1997, and since then you guys have become one of the funniest tandems in sports broadcasting. What should people know about him?
Feherty is the fattest cyclist that I have ever witnessed. He gets up every morning at about 3 a.m. and gets on that bike and rides 50 to 60 miles before 7:30. So he's out riding in the bowels of the night in a town he doesn't know with a little bitty light and he wonders why he gets hit so much. But when we go out for dinner after the telecast ends, he eats between a pint and 10 gallons of ice cream. So he rides and gets all of this exercise and he just gets fatter.
What was the last book you read?
Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol.
How do you groom your handlebar mustache?
It depends on the weather. Rollie Fingers taught me everything I know. If it's going to be a windy day, I apply excessive amounts of Clubman Pinaud, the wax of choice for all guys with handlebars. If it's going to be nice and sedate out, I'll apply the Clubman and wait for one hour and brush it out, which makes it really bushy and up in the air. If I go out there with my mustache brushed out and it's really nice in the morning and a storm comes through, I could end up in Kansas looking for Toto.

Supernatural: Sex And Violence
Domestic violence has been used as a 'way-in' to paranormal manifestations a number of times in Supernatural, but Sex And Violence brings the threat closer to home than usual for the Winchester brothers.
Their investigations into a string of seemingly unrelated incidents of men killing their wives leads Sam and Dean to the Honey Wagon, a strip club all the men visited, and they soon discover that a "siren" is at work, seducing the men with visions of their "perfect partner" and then leading them to murder the person closest to them.
Posing as FBI agents, Dean teams up with FBI agent Nick Monroe (Jim Parrack), also investigating the case, while Sam becomes entangled with a hottie doctor, Cara Roberts (Maite Schwartz).
Once the siren discovers the Winchesters are on its tail, its turns its attention to driving a wedge between the brothers and trying to trick them into killing each other - which doesn't take much, as Dean is already suspicious of Sam after he discovers his younger brother has been phoning Ruby secretly. During the ensuing argument Sam reveals that he and Ruby have been trying to track down top demon Lilith to kill her.
Like Dean I was excited about the prospect of a story involving strippers - although this being American primetime TV you barely see any flesh, the strippers being more dressed than most runway models - and so was surprised by the rather homoerotic twist in the siren's take on Dean's "dream partner".
And yet, ultimately, it is believable.
Putting the show back on track, this story simultaneously moves forward the emotional sub-plot of the season's overarching story while still presenting the Winchesters - and the audience - with an engaging (if not wholly original for Supernatural) story.

24 Kiefer: Jack Bauer's family mission
Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that Jack Bauer is desperate to get his family back in the new series of 24.
The last season saw Kiefer's character facing death after exposure to a bioweapon and daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) - with whom he'd had a tricky relationship - volunteering to try and save his life with a stem cell procedure.
Now Jack hopes to build on Kim's change of heart, with Kiefer saying: "He has the opportunity to start a life with his granddaughter, and through his granddaughter he sees an opportunity of repairing the relationship with his daughter - he is very committed to trying to get back that family that he lost from season one."
Kiefer also spoke about plans for the new 24 film, revealing that he would like to see it shot in Europe.
"We've wanted to film all around Europe," he said. "I think one of the great things about Europe, especially if you're going to do a film where a two-hour film represents a 24-hour day, it's very feasible to get from eastern Europe to London in seven hours and so it doesn't eat up all the time, because if you're doing 24 episodes, and you try to get from Miami to even Washington, that's four episodes on a plane and people stop watching.
"Europe has been something that we've all talked about as an opportunity for the film that just unfortunately has not presented itself for us in the show."

Su Valley Voice – memories and remembrance 09
The last time I remember talking to Mike Fisher was sometime around November 2008 at our usual spot: outside the Talkeetna Post Office. He was telling me he had recently heard from our old friend, Peter Dana, who had haunted this area in the early 1970s. Mike thought he might stop in to see my dad, Bob Durr, and tell him the latest from Pete. I told him my dad would love that. That coming February, Mike died two days before my father passed. Pete Dana would follow his old friends that coming July.
I saw Talkeetna’s home grown pilot, Jay Hudson, who I had known since childhood, at my father’s memorial service, smiling quietly as my brother, Jon, eulogized our dad. Two days later I watched Jay speak at Mike’s service. It seemed a lot of history for our area to lose all at once, Mike and my dad. But the year had just gotten started, and before it would close I would feel the crush on my heart as I watched one of Jay’s brothers, Chuck, help carry Jay’s coffin out of a local church.
Our area has had other hard years, no doubt. But 2009 was a year of losses: A year when the present seemed to cast a wide net over our town and snatch away core pieces of our living past; A hard year to put into words.
Like Pete Dana, Linda Ramsey passed in July. Here since the early 70s and one of the original “up the tracks” dwellers, Linda would have been among the dwindling numbers of residents who would still remember Pete, father of the once pleasant and much looked forward to Moose Dropping Festival, a man I remember seeing sitting at the piano at the Fairview on a gray quiet winter afternoon when my under-aged eyes looked in through the glass—
We are not there because we are here; somehow we all missed the flight—
He used to sing that. So here we are in beautiful downtown Talkeetna Alaska tonight.
He died in Australia , a long way from Talkeetna.
And Linda died in Anchorage , after illness, but her ashes were returned to the Susitna River with a wake of rose petals, like a bride’s train, following behind.
Then in August Emmila Denny got hit by a train at a crossing in Willow. She was here in the 1960s. She knew a Talkeetna that grows ever smaller in the rearview mirror with each passing day. Mud puddles on Main Street. Winter nights as deep and as still as the bottom of a frozen lake. The people who lived here then: Rocky Cummins. Jim Beaver. Don Sheldon. Ray Genet. And Mike Fischer—Emmila sang at his service.
For a brief time in late 2008 Emmila helped take care of my dad. When she’d leave him she’d say, I love you, you know that.
When Jay Hudson would say hi to me, he would always say my name. Always. Hello, Sarah. And then a smile.
I think of all the bits and pieces we collect from the people we share life with, like a bucket of pebbles off a vast beach, and I think how lucky, how very lucky that we live in a place where we can fill our buckets with these pebbles, that a conversation in front of a post office can turn into a precious gem, that the memory of a young blond pilot with flight goggles too big for his face can live on even after he’s gone, how lucky.
But the price for that is the weight a year like 2009 can have on the heart, like a steady snow that keeps building, a general kind of snow like what James Joyce wrote about in his story, “The Dead,” a snow that falls on the graveyard where Emmila and Jay now rest, that falls on the river where Linda’s ashes were joined with the water, that falls on the cabin where my father’s ashes wait a final resting place. A snow that falls on all the living and the dead. Falling faintly and faintly falling. And this last year, snow was general all over Talkeetna. Indeed.

Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. He’s already cast, and you know what? I’m glad he was cast. Yes, I said it. I am glad Ryan Reynolds is going to be Hal Jordan. People seem to be blacking out Reynolds’ serious roles and purely focusing on his goofball comedic roles. They seem to forget Smokin’ Aces, Amityville, the Nines, etc. He really can act. Hal needs a great actor to portray him, and Reynolds is a great actor. He’s also a big comic fan, and genuinely seems excited and passionate for the role. He’ll be a great Green Lantern. I believe in Ryan Reynolds.
Evangeline Lilly as Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire. I know she isn’t one of the finalists to play Carol, but she still would be my top choice for the role. Watch Lost and tell me she wouldn’t be a great Carol. Lilly has spunk, strength, intelligence, wit, and puts up a tough exterior to conceal inner conflict (especially in Season 1). That’s vintage Carol Ferris right there. I can also picture her as having excellent chemistry with Reynolds as Hal. Evangeline Lilly as Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire. I know she isn’t one of the finalists to play Carol, but she still would be my top choice for the role. Watch Lost and tell me she wouldn’t be a great Carol. Lilly has spunk, strength, intelligence, wit, and puts up a tough exterior to conceal inner conflict (especially in Season 1). That’s vintage Carol Ferris right there. I can also picture her as having excellent chemistry with Reynolds as Hal. Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles Are NOT Doing the Simpsons
Well, well. Today was an interesting experiment in the power of social media – or should I say, the insanity.
Yesterday, I posted a short, funny (or so I thought) piece about what would be on TV in the year 2025. I figured instead of looking back as most people do this time of year, I’d look into the future. I used my CRYSTAL BALL to see CSI: Mars, a 5-year old Doctor Who and Jensen and Jared on the Simpsons (NOT!).
Several people chose to take only the line about the boys and republish it on Twitter, sans the whole “Crystal Ball 2025 TV season” part and it went wild from there. Anyone who read the WHOLE article understood the context. Unfortunately, as it made its way around the internet, that context was lost.
It was a joke – Jensen and Jared are not going to be on The Simpsons.
I guess going forward, I should refrain from creative posting and stick to delivering nothing but facts – or maybe people just need to not believe everything they read until they have all the facts.
So my apologies to Jensen, Jared, their reps and the people at Warner Brothers who had to spend time unraveling this silly mess. And to the folks at The Simpsons – if you’d like to get me out of this jam by actually hiring the boys to voice an episode – I’d be ever grateful.

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure ends on a high
ATLANTIS, PARADISE ISLAND, THE BAHAMAS, January 14, 2010 - An extraordinary ten days of poker at the seventh annual PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas drew to a close last night with William Reynolds of Iowa, USA becoming the new PCA High Roller Champion.
The $25k event, broadcast live on www.pokerStars.tv, was the crown jewel in a schedule which overall boasted over 50 events and attracted more than 6,000 entries making this year's PCA festival the biggest tournament series outside of Las Vegas. Reynolds, 21, who came fourth at EPT San Remo last season, wins $576,240 after beating Canadian pro Will Molson, who was runner-up last year as well. A total of 84 players entered the event, creating a total prize pool of $2,058,000.
Reynolds said: "I feel ecstatic. It was the most rollercoaster of a ride I've ever been on. I was all-in so many times on Day 3, I thought I would be the final table bubble." High stakes cash game pro and 2009 World Series Ladies Champion Lisa Hamilton came fifth in the event, one of only two women to enter. Her $133,770 prize was the most that has ever been won by a woman at the PCA. The other female player was Team PokerStars PRO Sandra Naujoks who finished ninth for $56,995. 2009 World Champion and fellow pro Joe Cada bust in 11th place.
The $10k PCA Main Event attracted record numbers this year with 1,529 competing from 57 countries creating a total prize pool of $14,831,300. PokerStars ran thousands of satellites in the months leading up to the January 4 kick-off with 741 players winning their $15k trip to the Caribbean online. The event also attracted more than 150 media - from TV stations, radio, newspapers and websites around the world. Harrison Gimbel, 19, became the event's youngest ever champion when he beat fellow American online pro Ty Reiman to win the $2.2 million first prize. He won his seat in a $1k satellite on the eve of the Main Event. CardPlayer owner and WSOP-E champion Barry Shulman came third. Cracked aces knocked EPT founder and Team PokerStars Pro John Duthie out of the tournament in 12th place for $130k.
Team PokerStars Pros also thrived at the PCA: Vanessa Rousso won the $1k Ladies Event for $24,725. The 91-strong field included 33 women who won their trips to the Bahamas on PokerStars. William Thorson won the PLO $5k event while Benjamin Kang and his friend Mathias Kuerschner won the PL Hold'em/PLO Tag Team event. Katja Thater won the $1k 8 Game tournament for $10,475 while fellow pro Pieter de Korver, the EPT Grand Final champion, won the $1k No Limit 6 Max for $ 110,050. Team PokerStars Pro Marcin Horecki from Poland cashed in three events for a total of $21,855. A total of 55 Team PokerStars Pros attended the event including poker legend Daniel Negreanu, world champion Joe Cada, former world champions Peter Eastgate, Greg Raymer, Tom McEvoy and Chris Moneymaker.. Mike Kosowski, 9/11 hero and winner of the PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge also competed, alongside Team PokerStars SportStars Boris Becker, Swedish NHL star Mats Sundin and Dutch hockey pro Fatima Moreira De Melo.Baseball legend Orel Hershiser and UK football legend Teddy Sheringham also competed.

News roundup: Haiti telethon set for Jan. 22, 'Dollhouse' bumped, 3 'Supernatural' clips
* First things first: As you've no doubt heard, there is a telethon for Haiti aid airing on all the broadcast and many cable networks Friday, Jan. 22. For more on the telethon, which is being masterminded by George Clooney, go here. For information about how you can send money (while avoiding charity scams), check out this piece.
* The Haiti telethon will pre-empt the series finale of "Dollhouse," which will now air Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. ET. I've seen the finale and posted a few tweets about it. It's bittersweet and wonderful, and like all Joss Whedon finales, it made me lament the fact that the show is going away even more. Fran Kranz is phenomenal in the finale. I'll post more about "Epitaph Two: Return" after it airs.
* In lighter news, "Supernatural" returns Jan. 21 with "Sam, Interrupted." Creator Eric Kripke gave an interview to USA Today about the show and a possible sixth season; that piece is here. Are Big Name Bookings Conan O’Briens Last Swan Song?
Eonline is saying that the “Wattage will be much, much higher” next week, since it could be the talk show hosts final show…at least with NBC.
NBC won’t actually say O’Brien will be done after next week, after all the shows hiatus was already scheduled for the Winter Olympics, however other TV personalities are all but bidding adieu to O’Brien. ESPN host Bill Simmons tweeted this message:
“FYI: Next week is Conan’s final week hosting the Tonight Show,” adding “His staff is trying to book big guests so he goes out with a bang. It’s true.”
It’s still hard to determine if that rumor and others are true, as NBC Officials have denied a report by TMZ that Jay Leno has signed a new contract with NBC, giving him back the Tonight Show at 11:35pm.
It’s also being reported that to show off his ability to bring in big names O’Brien will have superstar Tom Hanks on his show, while his “wishlist” includes Howard Stern, a man always capable of grabbing headlines and top ratings and an open hater of Jay Leno.
Now if only NBC would realize that their future, that would be the younger audiences, are fleeing away from TV to other more sophisticated sources (internet streaming, digital download), think Leno is old news, perhaps they would make the smart decision and stay with the host who could help draw in younger, more internet savvy viewers to other mediums down the road. Leno is lame, he’s been lame for years, NBC is going back to whats safe and it’s going to knock them on their asses in the coming years.

We're saving our pennies to go see 'Legion.' What is on your Must List this week?
There are very few movies that I’ll actually shell out money to go see. But come hell or army of angels to destroy Earth (or worst, should I NOT find a gentleman suitor to pay for my ticket), I’m still going to see Legion in ten days.
The (rated M) trailer for the supernatural flick had my full attention from the moment is started playing eerie ice cream truck music, but sealed the deal with an apocalyptic storyline and a solid cast: Paul Bettany as Archangel Michael, Supernatural alum Adrianne Palicki as a knocked up waitress carrying the messiah, and Dennis Quaid as a small-town diner owner – but more importantly in his continuing role as my eternal older-man crush.
I am forgoing the purchase of my daily Sprite Zero from today until Jan. 22 so that I have enough money for a ticket. Legion better be worth it.

Kiefer Sutherland Wears a Dress on David Letterman
Kiefer Sutherland is a man after my own heart. Jack Bauer himself walked onto “The Late Show With David Letterman” dressed in one of the most hideous ensembles I’ve ever seen. The actor was sporting a spring dress, in a gross green color, with a very unflattering pattern. Why would he do this to himself you ask? It’s the age old answer to why all strange things happen in life, he lost a bet…
I’m not sure what was more hilarious, Letterman’s reaction to Sutherland’s dress or the actor’s inability to sit in it properly. He fidgeted the entire segment and made light of his unfortunate situation. It turns out that he made a bet with a friend that the New England Patriots would win a football game, and the wager was that if they lost Sutherland had to appear on Letterman in a dress. Obviously he got the short end of the stick, but being a man of his word like his alter ego Jack Bauer, he went through with it. It was embarrassing to see, but at least he did it on his terms. He sported some hairy legs and a pair of black combat boots to top it all off.
Letterman even joked that Kiefer should have gone all the way with heels and makeup, but the actor wasn’t having any of that. He didn’t really get to plug the season 8 premiere of “24” like he wanted to because the dress was so distracting. In case you missed it, the new season starts on Sunday, January 17th on Fox. There’s been a lot of talk regarding whether or not the actor will return for a ninth season of the show, and if you’re interested in finding out what he had to say visit, Will Kiefer Return for 24, Season 9?
