It's war on Gossip Girl and Trauma premieres on NBC

The wave of new shows has subsided and as of tonight they're down to a trickle with Trauma. Now it's time to sort through the mess and see which shows you'll be sticking with and which will lose a spot on your personal viewing grid.

If you're holding a spot for the new CW series The Beautiful Life, let it go. The series became the first official cancelation on Friday. As for returning shows, Dollhouse opened with two popular actors from the genre and even that wasn't enough to entice people to watch.

Numb3rs came back with a solid, but not spectacular, season opener. Gary Cole was wasted as a father out to prove that a political activist is a danger to those around him. The stakes simply weren't high enough for a started episode, but it's always good to see everyone back for another go-round. And did Don grow his hair out? He's looking mighty fsine.

Kelly Rutherford is going Through a Challenging Time

She may be going through a nasty divorce but Kelly Rutherford is still seeing the silver lining.

After obtaining a restraining order against her estranged husband, Daniel Giersch, earlier this week, the Gossip Girl actress put on a brave face Saturday to attend the DSW Presents: Step Up & Step Out brunch in Manhattan.
"I have it very lucky even though in my personal life right now I’m going through a very challenging time," Rutherford said. "I do know that there are women that I can help somehow because they’re going through a much tougher time."

As for her own troubles, the star, 40, is turning to her mom for support – and laughs.

"My mom's been through it too. I mean, not in the way that I'm going through it, but she understands," Rutherford said. "She is hysterical. She sent me that Christina Aguilera song "Stronger" and that's when I'm laughing and crying at the same time, like, 'Mom, I love you!' "
Rutherford is enjoying her time with son Hermes, 2, and Helena, her 3-month-old daughter, especially watching her son turn into a big brother.

"He gets up in the morning and he gives her a kiss and he goes ‘tickle, tickle!,' " said Rutherford. "He talks about her and how she can't eat yet, and he's so lucky he can have ice cream, and he can't wait to introduce her to [to it]. It's really cute.”

Kelly Rutherford gets restraining order against ex-husband

ET has obtained the restraining order "Gossip Girl" actress Kelly Rutherford acquired on Thursday against her estranged husband Daniel Giersch. Read on for the details.
The temporary restraining order stipulates that Giersch must stay at least 100 yards away from Rutherford and their two young children. It's effective through October 15, at which time a court hearing will be held.
In the court papers, the actress accuses her estranged husband of "alarmingly harassing and scary" behavior. "Not only does Daniel harass me, but my child care provider has quit as a result of Daniel's harassment and threats."
She continues, "It is clear that Daniel has begun to follow me, my mother, my nanny and he shows up unexpectedly to threaten and scare us."
Giersch's attorney tells ET that Rutherford's claims are "fabricated accusations," adding, "Daniel will remain focused on co-parenting both of their children and not make any personal comments in order to continue to protect the children's need for privacy and well being."
The actress filed for divorce from her estranged husband earlier this year, citing "irreconcilable differences."

'Gossip Girl' to gather steam with celeb guests

Pinoy fans of Leighton Meester have a reason to rejoice now that the femme fatale is back via the third season of “Gossip Girl.”

Airing on ETC every Tuesday at 8 p.m., “Gossip Girl” continues the saga of privileged teenagers enmeshed in a tangled web of love, lust, deceit and, yes, gossip.
Meester as the ever-stunning Blair Waldorf, along with actors Blake Lively, Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick who each reprises their roles in the hit series, go on with their story after they have graduated from high school.
A sneak peek at the first three “Gossip Girl” episodes held at Aquaknox Restaurant, Makati City on Sept. 22 show the same catty dialogs, fast-paced and engaging storyline and fashionable young ones as in previous seasons.

In the episode “Reversals of Fortune,” couple Chuck and Blair try to spice up their relationship by playing mind games. Blair’s ex-boyfriend, Nate, meanwhile, has a new love interest in the person of Bree Buckley.

The Humphreys spend their summer in the Hamptons, with Dan struggling to get the hang of their new-found, good life. Vanessa looks forward to seeing her best friend—albeit she is disturbed with the “change” in him—so she could introduce him to this “new guy” named Scott.
Serena captures the interest of the paparazzi and so scandalous pictures of her find their way to the tabloids.

All that happening in a single episode.
Yet some die-hard fans at the screening, thought the first few episodes of season 3 lack punch.
Marice Lupoy, moderator of Gossip Girl TV (a Multiply community), said, “It was just like any other episode. There’s nothing new and nothing really explosive.”

The guest celebrities in coming episodes of “Gossip Girl” season 3 such as Hilary Duff, Joanna Garcia, Tyra Banks, Tory Burch, Georgina Chapman and alternative granddaddy Sonic Youth are wont to change that notion as the season progresses.

Desmond Harrington Returns to Gossip Girl

Jack Bass, the devious uncle of Gossip Girl's Chuck (Ed Westwick), is set to return to the show later this season, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

"I will be back this year," says Desmond Harrington, who plays the character. "I think it's episode 15 or 16 where I show back up. It's fun playing Uncle Jack."

When we last saw Jack, he tried to attack Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford), who had taken over Bass Industries for Chuck. Jack was then sent packing back to Australia with a sore jaw after being punched by Chuck.

Harrington, who currently plays Det. Quinn on Dexter, says the producers asked him to come back, but he doesn't yet know the plot details surrounding Jack's return to New York. However, the actor says he hopes to continue making Chuck's life a living hell. "I think, if anything, I am there to screw that kid's life up basically," Harrington says. "I think he might be, out of all the most evil characters the show has ever had on it, the most evil character. He's evil."

Gossip Girl premieres

Gossip Girl is back and off to NYU. The CW hit show joins One Tree Hill on a night of soapy premieres.
First, Kayne West ruins Taylor Swift's VMAs moment in the spotlight and then I find out ABC Family canceled Ruby & the Rockits. I'm beginning to think there's no place in this world for sweet and wholesome. Okay, so Taylor sings about high school and young love and I get that's not for everyone, but she's my absolute favorite singer right now, so congrats on that VMA award! You go, girl.
Editor’s note: What will be interesting to see is how Kanye West is on the Jay Leno premiere tonight. Did we mention Rihanna's there too!
As for Ruby, yes, it's cutesy and over the top but isn't there room on TV for a sweet, enjoyable comedy? Come to think of it, if you look at Alexa Vega (who plays Ruby) and Taylor Swift there's something very similar about them. Perhaps it's not so odd that I love them both.

Taylor Momsen Says 'Gossip Girl' Is 'Shocking' This Season

Taylor Momsen is ready to take her throne as the Upper East Side's newest Queen Bee on the upcoming season of "Gossip Girl." The third season premieres on Monday, and the actress by day, Pretty Reckless rocker by night told MTV News that the writers have cooked up even crazier stuff for Jenny Humphrey and the crew to go through this year.

By now, the cast should be somewhat used to the antics the writers come up with for their characters, but the 16-year-old said she is still amazed by the story lines they create for her. "Every script is shocking," she said. "You're just like, what are they going to do this week? It's amazing how much stuff they come up with for our characters to do."

She went on to explain — unfortunately, without giving much away — that fans are going to be surprised by the direction the show is going in. "If you had watched the first episode of season one and [then] watched the last episode we just filmed, you'd be like, what?" she said. "What is going on? What is happening?"

But all that drama is makes it so much fun for Momsen to keep coming back as Little J. "It's a lot of fun," she said about the upcoming season, adding that fans just need to watch if they want to know exactly what she means. "A lot of mix-ups this year in the season. It's cool. Stay tuned, for sure."

The CW interviewed “ Gossip Girl” star, Chace Crawford who plays Nate Archibald on the show ,and he shared some more season 3 spoilers. He said since they’re in college now, it’s a little more fresh and opens up a wider range of possibilities for the show.

'Gossip Girl' cast 'cause frenzy in NYC'

The cast of Gossip Girl reportedly caused chaos while filming scenes in New York recently.

According to the New York Post, police barricades and extra security were needed after over-enthusiastic fans descended on the filming location near the city's Empire Hotel.

One onlooker claimed that co-stars and real-life couple Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen) and Penn Badgely (Dan Humphrey) sparked excitement when they were spotted "making out in the lobby" between takes.

The insider added that scores of extras were also present in the area and that they were clad in 1920s outfits for a scene where character Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) throws a themed party.

Earlier this year, star Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey) revealed that the cast were once shouted at by school principals for unintentionally encouraging students to skip class to watch filming.

Leighton And Ed Westwick Head Overseas To Sell Clothes

It's no surprise that overseas, famous American actors tend to be models and pitchmen for foreign products. Haven't you all seen "Lost in Translation"? With that being said, we here at Hollywood Crush were very, very stoked to see that our very own Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) have teamed up for ads for a Korean clothing brand.
So when we saw that the ad appeared in the Korean edition of Nylon, we wanted to get our hands on it that way we could share it with you, our faithful Crushers and "Gossip Girl" lovers.

The duo, decked out in preppy garb that we're sure Blair and Chuck would have loved to wear to school back in their high school days, posed for ASK Enquired and they appear to be getting very comfy with one another for the photos.
They both look adorable in it, especially Ed who is doing his best Zoolander for the photos, and plus he's not new to being a model for brands. In addition to his fabulous work for ASK, he's also the face of K-Swiss. So, now it seems like he'll have the kicks to go with those warm, autumnal sweaters.

Gossip Girl fans upset New Yorkers

Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley and Hilary Duff are causing more controversy on the set of hit TV drama Gossip Girl - New York residents have complained their neighborhood has been taken over by crazed fans.
Duff is currently filming episodes as a guest star on the series, in which she plays a famous actress who enrolls at an university with Vanessa, played by Jessica Szohr.

The singer, Badgley and Meester filmed a dinner party scene at the esteemed National Arts Club on Tuesday in Manhattan's elite Gramercy Park, attracting hordes of screaming teen fans - and complaints from local residents.

A source told the New York Daily News, "Residents were complaining that they couldn't even walk on the sidewalks because cables were lying all over the place. Plus, there were trailers and crazed fans everywhere."

Duff sparked controversy on the set this week amid rumours she had infuriated the show's cast after refusing to leave her trailer, causing a massive delay in shooting. Her spokesperson denied he claims, which she said were "absolutely not true."

Blake Lively going to 'Town' on big screen

"Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively has joined the ensemble cast that Ben Affleck is assembling for "The Town," a crime thriller he's directing.

In addition, Chris Cooper is in negotiations to board the Warner Bros. movie.

Affleck, Jon Hamm, Rebecca Hall and Jeremy Renner already are cast in "Town," an adaptation of Chuck Hogan's novel "Prince of Thieves."

The story follows a bank manager (Hall), the career criminal (Affleck) who stole more than her heart and the dedicated FBI agent (Hamm) trying to bust the crook and his gang, of which Renner is a part.

Lively is playing Renner's sister and Affleck's troubled ex-girlfriend. Cooper would play Affleck's father.

Lively returns as Serena van der Woodsen on the CW's "Gossip." whose new season begins September 14. She also will be seen on the big screen in "New York, I Love You."

Cooper, who won an Academy Award for "Adaptation," also appears in "New York" and the upcoming drama "The Company Men," which stars Affleck.

Carter Becomes Major on 'Gossip Girl' Season 3

Sebastian Stan is getting a lot of camera time this upcoming season of "Gossip Girl". His character Carter Baizen reportedly will
be "a major figure" in the first seven episodes of the CW show and will probably be recurring heavily in the rest of the
episodes. E! Online, which has acquired this information from a source close to the show, noted that "nothing's set in stone" yet.

In the season 2 finale of the drama, Carter came to Serena's rescue when she was desperately looking for her biological father.
Carter, who appeared in the show as Chuck's nemesis, finally was able to locate his whereabout and informed Serena about it.
Their relationship apparently will grow stronger from there because in one of the promo pictures released for the third season,
Carter is actually seen kissing Serena.

The Upper East Siders, who are now in college, will return with a new chapter of their lives on September 14. Hilary Duff will
also be a major recurring character this season with her role as a movie star in disguise, Olivia.

Chuck Bass plays kissy face in upcoming season

You don't have to be a "Gossip Girl" superfan to know that Chuck Bass, the young playboy portrayed by Ed Westwick, gets around.

His exploits last season included a steamy trip to Thailand and an interlude with a masked older women involved in secret high society sex parties.

But men?

Entertainment Weekly was first to report that Bass was caught kissing another boy in the episode of the hit show's third season that's currently being filmed.

A source at the show confirmed the same-sex smooch to the Daily News.
Spoiler alert if you choose to read further: Here are some of the details on the lip lock as reported by EW.
The kiss is not with anyone you've met previously "Gossip Girl" (anyone who was dying to see him kiss co-star Chace Crawford, cool your jets!).

The other kisser in question is a character named Josh Ellis, the aptly titled NYU head of freshman affairs, who's being played by Neal Bledsoe (previously seen on "CSI: NY" and "Guiding Light."

Ellis has the honor of picking an incoming frosh to deliver a big speech – and Leighton Meester’s Blair wants it so badly, she sends in Chuck to, um, try to seal the deal for her with the gay administrator.

Kicking off another workday, Hilary Duff was spotted on the New York City set of “Gossip Girl” earlier today (August 25).

The “Lizzie McGuire” actress looked lovely as she made her way around the lot in between scenes, sporting a variety of different outfits.

Speaking of her guest spot on the CW show, Hilary told press, “Everyone’s been really, really gracious to me and sweet to me. I’m a huge fan of the show. They called me and said come on and do a few episodes. I jumped at the chance.”

Last night, Miss Duff headed out to Madison Square Garden to check out the Britney Spears Circus tour, in town for three straight nights.

Taylor Momsen has a band,not half bad

For a band fronted by a 16-year-old, the Pretty Reckless has already accomplished plenty: Star-studded gigs, Twitter feuds with Courtney Love, the works. Did I mention that the Pretty Reckless' teenaged frontperson is in fact actress Taylor Momsen, best known as Gossip Girl's Jenny Humphrey?

So, okay, this fact likely accounts for much of the attention that the Pretty Reckless has received thus far. But! They are also a totally okay band on their own merits, as evidenced by the two new demos just posted on their MySpace. 'He Loves You' and 'Zombie,' both solidly serviceable tunes, share a catchy grunge-pop vibe. I'm particularly partial to the latter, though that might have something to do with the way its chorus shamelessly shoplifts from Stone Temple Pilots' 'Sex Type Thing.' (Or not: Momsen was born almost an entire year after that song came out. Scary, isn't it?)

2009 VMAs: Leighton Meester to present

MTV has not yet announced every famous name that will either perform or make an appearance at the upcoming 2009 Video Music Awards (VMAs). But there are some names to start getting excited about, including those of confirmed presenters Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, and Miranda Cosgrove.

Gossip Girls' Leighton Meester is already a recurring face in this year's celebration, since she is nominated for Best Pop Video with Cobra Starship thanks to her appearance in the video for the band's song "Good Girls Go Bad". She is even featured in one of the promos MTV calls VMA Side Story, where performers and presenters sing and dance to modern versions of the classis song "Tonight".

Chace Crawford, also of Gossip Girl fame, will be another presenter at this years' VMAs. He made headlines lately after being photographed kissing Twilight and New Moon star Ashley Greene.

Finally, young actress Miranda Cosgrove has also been confirmed as a presenter. First known by many for her work in the movie School of Rock, she is now the star of her own Nickelodeon show, iCarly, which has been known to put up a good ratings fight against the Disney Channel (and the Disney Channel girls Cosgrove is often compared to, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato.)

Gossip Girl Leighton Meester to present at MTV VMAs

On the night before the Gossip Girl Season 3 premiere you can see a few of your favorite stars walking the red carpet at the annual MTV Video Music Awards.

According to this article from the network, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester was added to the list of presenters for the evening and will get on stage to hand out a coveted moon man.

Meester, who just won a Teen Choice Award for Best Actress in a TV Drama, is up for an award for the video collaboration that she did with pop group Cobra Starship for 'Good Girls Go Bad.' Meester recently presented at the MTV Movie Awards and caused quite a stir in her sheer, see-through black dress.

It was announced earlier that Meester’s Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford will also be handing out an award at the VMAs.

Performances for the evening include Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Muse, Taylor Swift and more.

The award ceremony airs on Sunday, September 13th. Make sure to watch.

Who is Gossip Girl Gorgeous now?

As her first day on the set of Gossip Girl in New York City, Hilary Duff turns up bright and early on Monday (August 3).

The 21-year-old actress/singer will have a multi-episode arc playing Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). Olivia will be the new love interest for Dan (Penn Badgley).

Over the weekend, it was announced that Tyra Banks will also join the Gossip Girl cast, playing an actress co-starring in a film with Olivia.

Top Model boss Tyra Banks is set to guest star on the Oct. 5 episode of Gossip Girl's third season, CW reports.

She'll play Ursula Nyquist, a larger-than-life actress, according to sources.

In season three of Gossip Girl, Serena (Blake Lively) gets a job as a publicist is put in charge of handling Ursula at the premiere of the movie star's latest film. Of course, Ursula is known to be a troublemaking diva, so the two hotties tangle. Hmmm...who did you think wins that catfight? And who are you rooting for?

Other guest stars appearing on Gossip Girl season three are Hilary Duff as movie star Olivia Burke, Joanna Garcia as preppie princess Bree Buckley and Michelle Trachtenberg as the notorious Georgina Sparks.

A Gossip Girl's Work Week Is Never Over

It was a busy week for the cast of Gossip Girl, who not only worked both day and night on Friday, but then went back to work on Saturday to shoot more scenes for the upcoming season.

Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Leighton Meester were joined by the latest Gossip Girl cast member, Joanna Garcia, who recently told OK!

that she has become great friends with co-star Jessica Szohr, saying, “She has become like my girl in New York!”

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley: 'Gossip Girl' Lovers

Getting an early start to the work day, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley were spotted side-by-side on the “Gossip Girl” set in Manhattan on Monday (July 27).

Shooting near Columbus Avenue, the co-star couple strolled along hand-in-hand before Blake broke away to greet a pet pooch roaming the grounds, also changing outfits during the morning shoot.
As for her own style, Blake has revealed that she goes without the help of a stylist, telling of her own preferences: “Don’t be a slave to your style icon. Kate Moss wears 20s flapper dresses that look incredible on her, but terrible on me. I have boobs and a butt so I find dresses with a loose waist that still have a 20s feel.”

Miss Lively added, “I also make sure I dress for my figure. I’ll wear a loose cardigan with a tight top underneath, or a slouchy dress with a little belt. Something has to look good on you, not just be in style. If in doubt, wear a bodysuit. Topshop sells great crop tops, but wearing a lace bodysuit underneath stops them from being too revealing.”

'Gossip Girl's' Chace Crawford turns 24

Must be nice to celebrate a birthday young and rich.
To toast his 24th birthday this past Saturday, People magazine reports that "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford flew 15 of his longtime friends from Dallas to New York for the weekend.

His hometown boys met up with some of Chace's industry pals -- including Leighton Meester's man, Sebastian Stan -- and hopped aboard another plane, which took them to Water Mill, New York, where they partied at a private residence for two days.

The partying reportedly included swimming, kayaking and a speed boat.

Sadly though, Chace's longtime Manhattan roommate and "Gossip Girl" co-star, Ed Westwick -- whom Chace ditched last week to move into his own penthouse pad -- was a no-show.

But why?

Busy schedule? Sick? Bad feelings because of the recent parting of ways?

Or maybe they're just fighting over Blair again...

Joanna Garcia and Hilary Duff Guest Starring on Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl is expecting a few interesting guest stars for season three and some of them have already been spotted on set.

Last week, a fan met Joanna Garcia on the set of Gossip Girl. Joanna, who starred in Privileged, is in NYC filming with Chace Crawford. She will play Nate's new love interest in the beginning of the season.

Hilary Duff is also reportedly on set. The actress is playing Vanessa's new college roommate at NYU.

You may be able to catch a glimpse of both actresses on Monday when Gossip Girl films on Prince & Mulberry Streets in NYC.

The actress stars tonight in Gossip Girl.

The 21-year-old actress, who was born in Tarzana, California, stars in the buzzy CW series Gossip Girl. She got her first break, however, in the film, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which also starred Amber Tamblyn and Ugly Betty's America Ferrera. Blake won a Teen Choice Award for her work in the film.

She reprised her role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which is now playing at various times on HBO. Her next film is New York, I Love You, a romance which co-stars Natalie Portman and Orlando Bloom and is expected to be released in October.

Fans Swarm Blake and Leighton on 'Gossip Girl' Set

Poptv.com caught up to Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, the two main female stars of CW’s hit show Gossip Girl on the week of July 6,2009. In the video (below) they were filming a scene for Gossip Girl on Prince St. in New York City which is one of the most trendy shopping streets in downtown.

Their bodyguards and personal assistants kept trying to move people out of the way as they would try and get a closer look,or to get into the stores. There were hundreds of shoppers there,and paparazzi trying to get their money shots. Leighton and Blake looked good as they kept walking back and forth on the strip, shooting their scene for their upcoming third season of Gossip Girl.
